Renault Symbioz: Five key facts you need to know

Renault Symbioz Review
Renault is a car manufacturer that likes to think outside the box, producing cars that look futuristic but also deliver good efficiency and practicality.
Currently, the Renault product portfolio includes seven SUVs and one of its latest offerings is the car that we’ll be focusing on today - the Symbioz.
Built to rival some of Britain's most loved cars including the Nissan Qashqai and Kia Sportage, the Symbioz was launched in 2024 to sit in between the firm’s Austral and Rafale SUVs.
So, if you’re thinking about buying a Symbioz, what is there that you need to know? We’ve compiled a list of the top five key facts about this midsize French SUV.
It comes as standard with a hybrid powertrain
Renault is taking its future seriously and offers lots of its cars with electrified powertrains and the Symbioz is no exception.
There is only one engine choice available with the car - a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor that develops 147bhp and 149Nm of torque. Its acceleration stands at 0-60mph in 10.4 seconds and the Symbioz will run out of puff at 106mph.
Power is sent to the front wheels only with no four-wheel-drive option and all cars come fitted with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
There is a sliding rear bench seat

One nifty trick up the Symbioz’s sleeve is its sliding rear seats which you can slide forwards or back depending on whether you need to prioritise legroom or boot space.
With the seats slid all the way back, boot space stands at 492 litres, but if you move the bench forward, that room expands to 624 litres. With the rear seats folded completely down, that transforms the cargo area to 1,582 litres.
It has 24 safety systems

Many car manufacturers now fit an array of different driver safety systems to ensure you, your passengers and other road users are as safe as possible. Renault is no different.
Renault has managed to cram in 24 different driver safety systems for the Symbioz including emergency brake assist, front, side and rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, speed limiter, hill-start assist, blind-spot monitoring and more.
All these safety systems ensure that your family is as safe as possible when it comes to everyday travelling.
Three trim levels are on offer

Unlike lots of car manufacturers, Renault doesn’t want to confuse the buyer with loads of different specifications. Instead, the firm keeps things simple with just three trim levels, consisting of Techno, Techno Esprit Alpine and Iconic Esprit Alpine.
The basic Techno model is very well specced up, with features including 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, adaptive cruise control and a 10.4-inch infotainment screen with DAB radio and Google Built-in.
Moving up the range to the Techno Esprit Alpine, it boasts extras such as 19-inch alloy wheels, an electric tailgate, heated front seats and Alpine badging. The flagship Iconic Esprit Alpine has all of the features mentioned above and more such as a hands-free parking function, a 360-degree surround camera, a solarbay panoramic sunroof and a premium Harman Kardon nine-speaker audio system.
The Symbioz has a driving range of up to 630 miles
The Renault Symbioz comes equipped with a 48-litre fuel capacity which Renault claims can take the car up to 630 miles on a single tank of fuel. This is achieved by a claimed combined MPG figure of 60.1mpg, meaning that the car is ideal for those longer trips with less chance of fuel stops and it will be cheaper on your wallet, too.
